Our Approach
Counselling and Psychotherapy for Health and Wellbeing
Counselling and Psychotherapy are the terms given for talking therapies and are very beneficial for the mind and the body when experiencing difficulties within your life. The wellbeing of the mind is closely connected to the wellbeing of the body. What we think and feel impacts on how we physically feel. Therapy can be short or long term depending on the individual. The aim is to bring about effective changes or enhance a persons wellbeing.
People seek therapy because they are experiencing difficulties and distress in their lives that they are wanting to be freed from. Clients are sometimes isolated or can have the most supportive family around them. We are all unique so we all have issues that are unique to us. Other people will seek therapy for feeling dissatisfied in general with their lives and want to improve this or may be want to find a balance, they are looking to enhance their lives and make it better.
When preparing treatment plans for my clients I use an Integrative approach using tools and techniques from Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy. Each client receives a tailor made treatment plan best suited to them and their difficulties they are experiencing.

Hypnotherapy to support Health and Wellbeing
I use a relaxation technique that helps clients enter a state of hypnosis, which is only a clinical name for deep relaxation. During this deep relaxation (hypnosis) suggestions are made to the subconscious mind to create beneficial changes in the ideas or behaviour that you are wishing to make.
The subconscious is our store of all our experiences, good and bad ones. All our memories are stored, our beliefs, habits, behaviours, attitudes, thoughts, feelings and ideas. The subconscious is powerful and has the ability to allow us to forget certain experiences that have caused us pain and harm. However these experiences are still within us and often enough are the root causes of problems that we experience in our present lives.
