Counselling in Harlow, Essex

A space to understand yourself, rebuild your confidence and move forward

Sometimes life can leave you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself or unsure how to move forward. You might be struggling with low self-esteem, difficulties in your relationships, the effects of past experiences or patterns that seem to keep repeating.

At Minds at Peace Therapy, I offer a supportive, confidential space where you can begin to explore what is happening in your life, understand yourself more deeply and work towards meaningful change.

I'm Nicola White, and my approach is compassionate, collaborative and tailored to you. You don't need to have all the answers before you begin counselling. You simply need a space where you can start talking.

Face-to-face counselling in Harlow

If you are looking for a counsellor in Harlow, having a dedicated space away from the pressures of everyday life can make a real difference.

My counselling sessions take place at the Latton Bush Centre in Harlow, providing a setting where you can take time for yourself and focus on your emotional wellbeing.

Counselling may be helpful if you are experiencing:

  • Low self-esteem or a lack of confidence

  • Difficulties with relationships, boundaries or people-pleasing

  • The emotional impact of domestic abuse or unhealthy relationships

  • Anxiety, self-doubt or feeling overwhelmed

  • Repeating patterns that you would like to understand and change

  • Difficulty recognising your own needs or putting yourself first

You may recognise several of these experiences, or you may simply have a feeling that something in your life needs to change. You do not need to fit a particular description to seek support.

Understanding the patterns that affect your life

Sometimes the difficulties we experience today are connected to earlier relationships, experiences or beliefs we have developed about ourselves.

You might find yourself putting other people first, doubting your decisions, struggling to say no or remaining in relationships that leave you feeling unhappy. You may understand these patterns intellectually but still find them difficult to change.

Counselling gives you the opportunity to explore these experiences without judgement. Together, we can look at what may be contributing to your difficulties and work towards greater self-understanding, healthier boundaries and a stronger sense of self-worth.

The aim is not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you develop a clearer understanding of yourself and make choices that feel right for you.

What happens in counselling?

Beginning counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you have never spoken to a counsellor before.

Our first conversation is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling, ask questions and decide whether working together feels right for you.

Sessions provide time to explore your experiences at a pace that feels manageable. You will not be expected to share everything immediately, and you can choose what you feel ready to discuss.

My role is to listen, help you explore your experiences and support you in developing a greater understanding of yourself.

Finding the right counsellor in Harlow

Choosing a counsellor is a personal decision. Feeling comfortable, respected and understood is important.

I believe that counselling should offer a space where you can speak openly, explore difficult feelings and be met with compassion rather than judgement.

If you are considering counselling in Harlow, a free 15-minute introductory call gives us an opportunity to talk briefly about what you are looking for and whether my approach may be suitable for you.
